The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has scheduled the one-week observance of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, for Thursday, August 21, 2025.

This follows the official announcement of her passing on Thursday, August 7, 2025. The ceremony will take place at the forecourt of the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, where mourners from Ghana and abroad are expected to gather to honour her memory.

Nana Konadu Yiadom III served as Asantehemaa for eight years, earning deep respect for her wisdom, compassion, and dedication to safeguarding Ashanti traditions. Palace officials say the rites will be conducted in accordance with Asante customs, with chiefs, queen mothers, dignitaries, and the public attending in mourning attire.

Her death has been described as a profound loss to both the Ashanti Kingdom and the nation.
