Four Arrested Over Murder of Security Guard at Gomoa Akotsi Factory

Four individuals have been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of a 65-year-old security guard, Kwabena Boateng, at the De-Bridge One District One Factory (1D1F) facility in Gomoa Akotsi, Central Region.

The Gomoa Ojobi District Police Command confirmed the arrests to Adom News, revealing that four additional suspects are still on the run.

Among those arrested are 28-year-old businessman Samuel Larbie and 32-year-old motor mechanic Wisdom Sosu, who are believed to be the main perpetrators. Two others, Nabil Mohammed and Mahmoud Kardi, were apprehended for allegedly purchasing stolen items, including the victim’s mobile phone and electrical components.

According to police, the stolen items—coils and copper wires—are valued at GH₵250,000. The deceased’s Infinix Smart 8 phone is valued at GH₵1,800.

Investigations indicate that on July 2, 2025, Mr. Boateng was killed after confronting the suspects during an attempted theft of electrical cables from two transformers at the factory. He was reportedly tied up and suffocated with a polythene bag.

Police disclosed that this was the second attempted robbery Mr. Boateng had encountered while on duty at the factory.
