Five killed, several injured in Kumasi–Accra highway crash at Asuboi

At least five people have lost their lives and several others sustained injuries in a fatal accident on the Kumasi–Accra highway at Asuboi, near Suhum in the Eastern Region.

The crash, which occurred earlier today, involved a Sprinter bus with registration number GW-5535-24. Eyewitnesses reported that the bus, which was traveling at high speed, suffered a sudden tyre burst, causing the driver to lose control.

The impact of the accident was devastating, leading to the instant death of five passengers. Rescue operations were delayed, with emergency teams arriving about 30 minutes after the crash.

The injured victims were later rushed to the Suhum Government Hospital, where they are receiving treatment.
